Okay, people. Here’s what going down:

I have 15 medium to large-ish boxes of goodies in my hallway. They contain a mixture of the following:

fabric (oh my, the fabric)
notions (oh heavens, the notions)
promo materials
stabilizers, fusibles, etc.
thread (holy cats, the thread)
miscellaneous great stuff including scraps, blocks, Quilty demo materials, etc.

These boxes are in my hallway! (You can see me taking the picture in the mirror.) I can't get out of my house!

EVERYTHING MUST GO. No, really. I can’t take it anymore! I need to get outside! The only sensible, goodly, humane thing to do is a giveaway. I have personally put together 15 boxes of great stuff and I would like to give it to YOU, Quilty fan/reader/viewer/excellent + intelligent + attractive person.

Here’s how it’s gonna work:

1. Get an extra copy of Quilty and give it to a friend. We’re not going to make you prove that you did this, so it’s scout’s honor.
2.  Comment on this blog post by answering this simple question: What do you like about Quilty?
3. Sit back and check in here on the blog because on May 15th, we’ll draw from all the entries and 15 of you will win one of these sizeable boxes of goodies.

Drawing will be 100% randomized. We are utterly unscientific and will be using no algorithm or computer aided-randomizing system, but I hereby swear to throw all your slips into a big popcorn bowl and draw with my eyes closed. (Seriously, that is how it’s going to work to pick winners.) We’ll ship out as soon as we get back from Market on Monday, 20th or Tuesday, May 21st, depending on how tired we are. (By “we,” you realize I mean “me.” Mary. I’m the one with the popcorn bowl.)

You deserve a little gift! Try your luck!

p.s. Need the magazine? I gotcher’ magazines right heh:¬†

Quilty is just the most inspirational publication to get novice quilters quilting!
I just wish I could find it, and purchase it in the UK. I love your Quilty videos Mar – keep up the good work xxxx

2 Jenniffer Eberley { 05.12.13 at 8:24 pm }

I like Quilty because you get a variety of skill levels available and it is laid out in a way that you can understand it.

3 maggie p { 05.12.13 at 8:25 pm }

I got my first sewing machine this past November. I took my first quilting class in February where my instructor sold me my first issue of Quilty–devoured it. I love all the tips for those dipping our toes for the first time into this world of fabric, design, artistry, and fun!

4 Sherry Barger { 05.12.13 at 8:26 pm }

I enjoy the inspirational photos, that give me ideas to do. I will getting my extra copy in the morning after work and giving it to my sister. Thank you for the chance of winning.

5 Chris { 05.12.13 at 8:27 pm }

I love the modern quilts in Quilty, the colors and lines and shapes that are a loving offshoot of traditional quilting. The magazine is bright and easy to read and the directions are clear. You can teach even an old experienced quilter new tricks!

6 Phyllis Jaco { 05.12.13 at 8:31 pm }

I love Quilty magazine, because it’s fun. I enjoy the easy patterns and fun designs. Always looking forward to the next issue to share with my friends.

7 Ann Sulin { 05.12.13 at 8:33 pm }

I love Quilty because of the different quilt patterns and photos which inspire me to try new ideas!

8 Caroline { 05.12.13 at 8:37 pm }

I read it for the pictures ;) sorry couldn’t resist! I enjoy the tips and the quilters’ profiles with their creations, it is a fun read and I get to learn something in the process – thanks! P.s. the videos are pretty cool, too!

9 Laurie { 05.12.13 at 8:39 pm }

Wow – what a generous giveaway! Good luck with Market and have fun. I love Quilty because of the patterns – I always want to do SEVERAL of the quilts in EVERY issue because they appeal to my style and quilting ability. I don’t really buy other magazines because it doesn’t feel worth it-as I rarely like the projects they have. Money is tight – so I usually don’t buy quilting magazines just to read them – it has to be worth it to me to spend the money and actually have a pattern or two that I can turn to.

10 Lisa Weaver { 05.12.13 at 8:39 pm }

Although I absolutely adore all the quilt patterns in Quilty, I have to say that my favorite part of the magazine is the articles! I read every issue cover to cover! I’ve learned so much about quilting and it’s history. I’m hooked!

11 Sharon Traughber { 05.12.13 at 8:43 pm }

I have loved all copies of Quilty , not easy to find here in Indiana so have to search. The format is very enjoyable to read and the level of quilting fits so many. Love the magazine. Would love to own some of your rejects.

12 Susan { 05.12.13 at 8:44 pm }

OH MY GOSH I am so excited! OK here is what I love about Quilty. Did you ever pick up a “beginner” or “easy” quilt book?? For people who have been quilting for 50 years, maybe those patterns are easy. For me, who has been quilting for ZERO years, they are not easy. I love the Quilty videos and magazine patterns because they are ACTUALLY EASY for actual new quilters (namely, ME!) Thank you SO much for the chance to win!

13 Christina Adams { 05.12.13 at 8:48 pm }

What I love are all the instructions and tips, and the simplicity of the quilts (not necessarily fast, but straightforward!). Also, I do generally like at least one or two quilts in each issue – definitely worth the money!

14 Christine Sherman { 05.12.13 at 8:52 pm }

Oh this is a good one! I love Quilty because of the modern edge for us newbies! Love the patterns and the pictures (The Comma quilt is gorgeous and I will be making one!) Thanks for the chance!!

15 Shirley Babcock { 05.12.13 at 8:55 pm }

Love the magazine. Everything in it is so inspirational. Pictures and instructions are clear, easy to understand. Love that the magazine appeals to all levels of quilters. Keep up the good work.

16 Lynda DeTray { 05.12.13 at 8:56 pm }

While I love the quilt patterns, Ebony Love’s column, and my friend Spooly, the thing I like most about Quilty is the attitude that comes through in each article. I never finish reading an issue without feeling completely motivated to get to my sewing machine or EQ! It sparks my creativity and that’s what I want in a quilting magazine.

17 AnnF { 05.12.13 at 9:02 pm }

I love Quilty for its mission of making quilting accessible for all–the newbies and experienced quilters alike. And who doesn’t like Spooly??

18 Molly B. { 05.12.13 at 9:02 pm }

I love that is it geared towards the novice and gives great advice.

19 Barb Bruce { 05.12.13 at 9:02 pm }

Quilts is a great magazine. Two generations of us love it! Such great ideas.

20 Charity Simpson { 05.12.13 at 9:04 pm }

I learn something new each issue and am always inspired. It wasn’t until I found modern quilts that I discovered I actually like quilts and quilting.

21 Melissa's { 05.12.13 at 9:05 pm }

Every issue has been full of fun wonderful articles. Projects are easy and can be done by a beginner quilter like myself. I look forward to finding spooly in every issue. Thank you and keep publishing my favorite magazine Quilty!

22 Ellyn { 05.12.13 at 9:11 pm }

as soon as I find it I will buy one for me and one for a friend! I promise. what do I love about Quilty? EVERYTHING! The quilts are stunning and doable….

23 Sharon Hand { 05.12.13 at 9:13 pm }

I love everything about the Quilty magazine.

24 Faye Nettles { 05.12.13 at 9:22 pm }

I love everything about Quilty. The instructions are easy to follow and there are so many quilts I want to make.

25 Bettina K { 05.12.13 at 9:23 pm }

I like QUILTY because your magazine shows projects for all different skill levels. I enjoy to read the articles and get inspired to try a new technique. The modern quilts and color combinations helped me to step outside my comfort zone and use colors I never thought I would have the courage to piece together. Thanks quilty for all the great patterns and for the encouragement for us modern quilters. Love, love, love quilty!!!!

26 Bernie S { 05.12.13 at 9:30 pm }

Quilty has easy quilts–that usually means quick quilts too–that are perfect for making it your own. And it even has ideas for making it your own. I watched your talk, Mary, on Craftsy, that you gave at QuiltCon, and I realized that I too didn’t prefer to repeat what someone else had done (so nix kits!) but wanted to build my own take on the project. You reinforced for me that it was not only OK, but wonderful, to adapt and adjust patterns to fit my taste. Thank you!

27 Kate { 05.12.13 at 9:34 pm }

I’m new to sewing (started in February) after being inspired by a friend who started quilting a few years ago. I wasn’t sure I could handle making a quilt, but the March/April issue of Quilty caught my eye in the store. I’m a sucker for a good magazine cover, so I bought it immediately. The projects and instructional information made me realize that I can quilt! I just finished piecing together my first top today and hope to start the quilting process this evening!

28 Karen { 05.12.13 at 9:39 pm }

I love the aesthetic of Quilty. Clean lines and modern. The contributors all seem so normal and approachable. Love that!

29 Kaarin { 05.12.13 at 9:55 pm }

I love Quilty because it is a quilting magazine I like to read as much as I like looking at the photos.

30 Marie G { 05.12.13 at 10:00 pm }

When I read Quilty, it makes me smile!

31 tiara { 05.12.13 at 10:00 pm }

I love everything about Quilty from the projects to the promos to the historical facts about quilting

32 Jeri { 05.12.13 at 10:14 pm }

I had been away from quilting for 30 years when I was channel surfing and caught Mary Fons talking about quilting. Oh how she loved her Baby Lock Melody. Well I went and checked one out. Bought one, some fabric, some quilt magazines (Boy have things changed) and the rest is history. I am quilting again in my retirement years and loving it! Love your magazine. Gave a friend a copy and now have a sewing partner!

33 rose { 05.12.13 at 10:28 pm }

I like that there is a place for new quilters to go and not feel like they will be judged or overwhelmed. thanks!!

34 Sally { 05.12.13 at 10:34 pm }

I love your magazine and have watched every video. Love the new tricks and time honored traditions and my favorite shows start with “this is my quilt” when someone displays one they’ve made, been given or plan to give away. I have been quilting for a few years, but still wear the rookie hat. Keep up the good work!

35 Tim { 05.12.13 at 10:45 pm }

I love that quilty made me believe I could quilt. One of the lone guys in a vast sea of women quilters got the courage to take that first stitch because of you.

36 Kate { 05.12.13 at 11:07 pm }

I love the modern feel of the magazine, the patterns, the tips, and Spooly of course. What’s not to love?!

37 Joan R { 05.12.13 at 11:12 pm }

I learned about your magazine from members of my modern quilting group, apply called Mod Squad…I picked up the 3rd issue and love it, love it, love it…in fact I took it to a monthly class for Show and Tell…with in a few days you could not find a copy in our town. (we have 2 quilt guild of approximately 270 quilters)…While on a recent vacation in Utah (I live in Canada), I found the 2nd issue…so am just missing your inaugural edition! You have info and patterns for all quilting levels, helpful videos, etc, etc…In short, the perfect magazine!!!

38 karen { 05.12.13 at 11:17 pm }

Quilty is a place to go and feel like you can do any quilting project you want while having the time of your life.

39 Diane { 05.12.13 at 11:20 pm }

I love the clean look of the magazine and that there’s a variety of skill levels.

40 Pat C in Washington { 05.12.13 at 11:36 pm }

I didn’t think I was going to like “modern” quilts – I’m more of a traditionalist. But the more I see them, the more I’m liking them. I’m liking more modern color combinations, more solid colors, more modern patterns … it’s BLOWING MY MIND.

41 Lori { 05.12.13 at 11:36 pm }

I love everything about Quilty and own every issue. I just bought a subscription for my Mom for Mother’s Day too, lol. Probably my favorite thing about quilty is the “conversational” manner of the text. It feels like sitting down and chatting with a friend :) I hope you make it out of your hallway to market, lol. Safe travels!

42 Amy D { 05.12.13 at 11:38 pm }

This year, my second year of sewing, I made a vow to do something sewing related for at least 15 minutes every day. Some days that was really hard. However, I found Quilty videos and voila, 2 videos on days where I know I shouldn’t be allowed to cut or sew anything and I still meet my 15 minute commitment.

The videos are all nicely sized, fun and informative. I’m so thrilled to have come across it. Thanks for doing it!

43 cindy { 05.13.13 at 12:08 am }

I love that it is for the newer/ish quilter. The photos are beautiful and the information is all well put together. It makes everything look beautiful and fun!!!

44 Brittany { 05.13.13 at 12:13 am }

I love how techniques are broken down for everyone to understand. It is nice to know that even someone who has been quilting for years can still learn something new. I love the videos too!

45 Lorie { 05.13.13 at 12:27 am }

Great idea. My favorite thing about Quilty is it’s “voice.” The editors have found a great way of writing in a modern voice for a modern generation of quilters.

46 carolyn { 05.13.13 at 12:39 am }

Easy to read. Good for beginners.

47 Stephen { 05.13.13 at 12:51 am }

I like Quilty because it provides fresh inspiration and accessible instruction in a friendly format. It makes quilting fun, hip, and new.

48 Ann { 05.13.13 at 12:54 am }

I just love the patterns and the cute little cartoon’asides’. I’m looking now for an extra quilty copy to give. Friend…..they aren’t so easy to come by up here north of the 49th.

49 Carolyn { 05.13.13 at 1:03 am }

Quilty never fails to get me motivated and planning for my next quilting project. There are always several projects that I can’t wait to do. It’s colorful, fun, instructional, current—-perfect!

50 SallyH { 05.13.13 at 1:32 am }

Quilty’s modern, fun quilts are refreshing. I fell in love with a friend’s quilt that she made from a Quilty pattern and got hooked!

51 Mia { 05.13.13 at 1:41 am }

I like Quilty for a lot of reasons – there’s something for every kind of quilter, I think… but Quilty advised my sister and I to tape down during a lay out (maybe it’s common sense – we hadn’t thought of it) and we HATED laying out quilts . Last night, as we laid out a mother’s day quilt (I mis-estimated how much time I’d need), we were praising the fact that Quilty shared that tidbit!!!

52 Annie K { 05.13.13 at 1:46 am }

I think I got the last copy here… can I gift that one and count? LOL! Okay, aside from all the fun things I learn from each issue, I just plain get happy LOOKING at it… seriously, it’s a feast of eye candy. ;-)

53 Mary Lee { 05.13.13 at 2:01 am }

I really enjoy Quilty because it isn’t just about patterns and the latest fabric lines. I have been piecing quilts for about 10 years (mostly baby quilts because they looked good tied) and now I am finding that because of the ‘quilting’ pieces with Mary and Ebony I am encouraged to visualize other options, and have even tried some. Thank you.

54 Sara { 05.13.13 at 2:28 am }

My favorite thing about quilty is the little handwritten/ hand drawn instructions and tidbits throughout the magazine.

55 Maggie { 05.13.13 at 2:28 am }

The instructions, patterns and tips are great for us beginners!! It has been fun learning and increasing my quilt knowledge a little bit at a time. I also read about Ebony Love, learned about long arm quilting and took a workshop from her in Houston, Tx!

56 Tiffany Z { 05.13.13 at 2:38 am }

I love Quilty because it has inspired me to get into quilting. My mom had started, but I didn’t get it. Quilty has helped me get it! Everything is broken down into easily accomplishable feats and ends up looking great using your techniques. Plus the designs are amazing! I just found the magazine at our local Iowa grocery store and was pumped! I’ll have to go back and see if the new one is there and buy 2!

57 Lynn W { 05.13.13 at 2:41 am }

Quilty is the magazine I have been hoping for. I am new to quilting and I love the modern patterns and articles for beginners. Thank you for making quilting exciting and attainable for those who have always just admired the work of others.

58 MaryC { 05.13.13 at 2:42 am }

Besides the tips and lessons, I like that Quilty is introducing me to contemporary quilting in a gentle way. I have all the issues and am excited to see the “auto-ship” – that department will be hearing from me shortly! Thanks for a new resource that fills a niche I hadn’t noticed was empty.

59 Sarah Craig { 05.13.13 at 2:49 am }

I love the fact that every copy of the magazine has at least three projects I can’t wait to make! That’s so rare these days. Also, it has a great light-hearted, not-too-serious-on-itself flair that I love! Everything feels fresh and modern, too. Thanks for the chance!! (PS I always pick up an extra copy of the magazine and share it with the ladies in my quilt ministry – they love it too!

60 Anne { 05.13.13 at 2:52 am }

I love the simple patterns featured in Quilty along with all the other quilting info. Giving a copy to my daughter in hopes she will embrace quilting along with me. : )

61 Eileen { 05.13.13 at 2:57 am }

Hi Mary–
I ran out and got a copy of Quilty after seeing you
on the Craftsy Quiltcon Lectures. I loved your lecture
and I can see your passion in Quilty. Keep on inspiring
the beginner and the old school quilter– You Rock!!

62 R MacKinnon { 05.13.13 at 3:01 am }

I enjoy Quilty because it is so much more than a “pattern” magazine. I like all the tips and the stories of the people who do the design work, etc. I don’t feel like I have to know everything about quilting to use the patterns – there are drawings and good instructions with each design. I also like some of the more modern quilt desings. I am buying an extra copy for my cousin to encourage her to get back to her quilting.

63 Carmen { 05.13.13 at 3:14 am }

I love Quilty, it makes me smile. It’s current and instructional and fun! I bought an extra copy of Quilty and gave it to my daughter. Now I wait with bated breath for the chance to win one of the boxes in your hall.

64 January Turner { 05.13.13 at 3:35 am }

I can’t pick one thing that I love about Quilty. The whole thing is fabulous!!! I love that it has something for everyone – new and experienced. It’s always filled with wonderful tips and great patterns. I could go on and on :) thank you Quilty!!!!!! Mary your amazing with all your boxes of goodness :)

65 Denise { 05.13.13 at 3:49 am }

I love Quilty because of its fresh approach to draw readers/quilters to quilting. It’s makes quilting not seem so daunting and that “you can do it” because everyone’s a beginner at some point and being a beginner is a “cool” thing here. And even if you are not a novice to quilting it’s a great tool for relearning techniques you may find challenging. It’s like learning with your best friend or sibling.

66 Kristin Tyson { 05.13.13 at 3:54 am }

As a new quilter, Quilty provides me with great inspiration and a good jumping-off point to create my own quilts that combine tradition and modern. I also love the tips to help me speed things up and/or do things better.

67 Carmen Christian { 05.13.13 at 4:19 am }

I love Quilty because it is so fun to read over and over again – I read every page. It is refreshingly different from the other quilting mags. Your wonderful personality shines through!

68 April T { 05.13.13 at 4:30 am }

I LOVE how Quilty presents ideas, examples, and tips in such a fun and non-intimidating way! Please keep up the great work Mary!

69 Kathy Sellers { 05.13.13 at 4:49 am }

I’ve been quilting about 2 years, and I just love the ideas I get from Quilty. I have a handicapped son, so I don’t get out alot to take classes, so I have pretty much been self taught .. that is except for the help I get from such publications.

70 Hope Wasylenki { 05.13.13 at 5:33 am }

I love Quilty – it’s quilting for everyone! Beginners or experienced, I think Quilty offers something for everyone. The variety of patterns/projects are awesome. I buy the digital version so I can take it anywhere (PC/Nook). Love you, Mary ~ I can relate to you in a way ~ because you grew up with your Mom & Liz quilting and I grew up seeing my Granny piecing quilts ~ mostly from polyester scraps left over from various clothing she made. She made me a twin size quilt when I was younger that is made mostly from scraps of clothes she made me. I still have it. :)

71 Beth T. { 05.13.13 at 5:34 am }

I love many things about Quilty. For me, some of the highlights are the use of non-traditional colors (or traditional colors in non-trad ways), and the tone of the magazine. I love the way the Quilty voice comes through. Your contributors are great, as well. Quilty has quickly become one of the three or four magazines I won’t ever pass up–and that list used to be much, much longer.

I’ve already shared several issues with my niece, and have the latest issue tucked into an envelope to mail to her tomorrow.

Thanks for the generous giveaway. I’m dreaming Quilty dreams.

72 Jean McMurry { 05.13.13 at 6:16 am }

I’ve been quilting for a long long time, but I just retired 4 years ago, and finally have time to quilt things I never would have tried while I was working full time and raising kids. So I have learn a few things from watching Quilty, and I really enjoy your sense of humor.

73 Lisa Maloney { 05.13.13 at 8:57 am }

I love the modern aesthetic to so many of your quilts, and I looooove how Quilty breaks things down so clearly for a beginner like me!

74 Babett { 05.13.13 at 10:26 am }

I’ve just finished my first quilt and Quilty was a great resource for me to learn the techniques. It also gave me the confidence to just go for it! There is no tradition of quilting where I come from, so everything seemed so intimidating, with fancy terms to learn and things everyone assumed you knew. Quilty removes this barrier and makes quilting doable and fun. Thanks, Mary, for a wonderful show and for this giveaway!

75 Gabriela { 05.13.13 at 10:34 am }

I love that quilty is beginner friendly! That’s me!

76 Barbara Simmons { 05.13.13 at 10:52 am }

I love EVERYTHING about Quilty. It’s quirky, down to earth and cute….Jus like you, Mary!! I have been a quilter for almost 20 years, but I just love the patterns. Am currently working on a quilt from the first Quilty and have the fabric for one each from the other two. Keep them coming!!!!! Love Ya Mar……Barb Simmons, Akron Ohio.

77 Sarah Schraw { 05.13.13 at 11:04 am }

I love Quilty because when I look at the pictures it gives me the incentive I need to get my current projects done so I have room to start new ones!

Love you Mary, Thanks!

78 Ilene { 05.13.13 at 11:05 am }

this is a great magazine to share with friends especially those wanting to start quilting.

79 Sharon M. Peterson { 05.13.13 at 11:39 am }

I love Quilty and give copies of the magazine to new quilters. I teach inner city folks to quilt and the patterns are easy and have a high success level for new quilters.

80 Denise { 05.13.13 at 11:50 am }

Inspiration and great tips and advice! That’s why I love Quilty. I’m still a new quilter (only a couple of years) so I need all the help I can get…and Quilty provides that. Thanks!

81 Sue { 05.13.13 at 12:27 pm }

LOVE IT!!! LOVE IT!!! LOVE IT!!! What more can you say….

82 Lauren { 05.13.13 at 12:34 pm }

Hi Mary. I picked up the latest issue of Quilty and then got home and decided I wanted to pick one up and send it to my daughter (they closed her bookstore). I’ve told her about Quilty. I love the way the videos you produce go over the basics for those new to quilting. It is fun to see some of the projects I’ve watched you demonstrate featured in the Quilty magazine as well. Thanks for the opportunity to enter the raffle. I’ve watched you since the beginning and it has been fun!

83 Deborah { 05.13.13 at 12:36 pm }

Quilty is just so pretty to look at! And, I always find tips and inspiration. Thanks for the giveaway!

84 Char { 05.13.13 at 12:47 pm }

Quilty is the zippiest magazine on the market today. Love it.

85 Barb N { 05.13.13 at 1:44 pm }

Quilty is just a fun magazine! Even for quilters who have been at it awhile, it gives a lot of tips and ideas that we may not have picked up on ourselves. And I’m all for time saving and doing-it-right-the-first-time tips – thank you! Oh – my extra copy goes to a friend :)

86 Christine Sloat { 05.13.13 at 1:55 pm }

I love Quilty because it is fresh and inspires me to look at quilting with a more modern eye. And even an “old” quilter like me gets a lot of inspiration, tips/tricks and advice. Keep it up!

87 Mary { 05.13.13 at 2:08 pm }

I LOVE Quilty! It has such refreshing projects, a wonderful layout and little Spooly is just too cute! I’m giving away a copy of Quilty to a dear friend!

88 Liz { 05.13.13 at 2:28 pm }

I love Quilty. It’s new, exciting, and full of fresh ideas and inspiration.

89 jenn { 05.13.13 at 2:48 pm }

I love Quilty because it never fails to get me excited and motivated to work on a quilt – either a new pattern I see, a new technique or tip to implement, or just lots of pretty, pretty pictures to make me want some for myself!

90 Nina { 05.13.13 at 2:50 pm }

I love your Quilty Mag because it is young and fresh, I am using it to get my daughters and granddaughters interested. Hoping to make a convert out of at least one of them!

91 Sandy Diehl { 05.13.13 at 2:59 pm }

I love Quilty for many reasons but perhaps the number one reason is because I don’t get out much due to health issues and the one thing that brings me pleasure is quilting! I get more excited when I see new quilting magazines, tips, patterns, etc than a kid at Christmas! You guys are awesome! Thanks for the pleasure you bring! I’ll send my husband to get a magazine to give my Mom because she loves quilting too!

92 Amanda { 05.13.13 at 3:04 pm }

I love Quilty because the projects tend to be either fun or inspiring, and I am a huge fan of the more modern angle of quilts anyway, so they appeal to my sensibilities. It also inspires my mom, who is even a more novice quilter than I! She’ll get my extra copy to take with her on her big trip soon!

93 Joellyn P. { 05.13.13 at 3:05 pm }

I Love Quilty for the modern quilts. That is the kind of quilt my older daughter likes and I knew nothing about that type of quilt until Quilty came along.

94 Hedda { 05.13.13 at 3:12 pm }

I always look forward to Quilty because the magazine is fresh, and the writing is a bit saucy and doesn’t take itself too seriously! Plus, the tips and online demos are well-done and easy to access.

95 Lee H { 05.13.13 at 3:32 pm }

I love Quilty’s modern approach, I love it’s bold colors and the humorous approach makes me laugh all of the time! Thanks for all the hard work!

96 Michelle { 05.13.13 at 3:37 pm }

I love Quilty because of the modern projects included in each issue. The instructions are well written and even I as a novice quilter could make each one. It is also the only modern quilting magazine my grocery carries. I got tired of having to hunt for it so now I have an automatic subscription!

97 Jenny { 05.13.13 at 4:12 pm }

i like to find a magazine that appeals more to my modern bent … i always look at the last page of a quilting mag first…i love seeing your Inspiration page there!

98 suzy { 05.13.13 at 4:15 pm }

I have to admit…I have not purchased a “Quilty” magazine to date. However, after reading all your past 12 blogs and faithfully watching Fons and Porter every Saturday, I will be purchasing my first Quilty magazine tonight on my way home. I am a traditional quilter, but am rapidly falling in love with the modern quilts. Can’t wait to be further inspired! LOVE your personality. Comes through so clear in your blogs. Keep up the enthusiasm and great work! (I quilt with my mom as well and understand the bond… best thing in the world.)

99 Linda F. { 05.13.13 at 4:19 pm }

I love the patterns in Quilty. They are so modern and so sewable. Thanks for the chance to win a box of goodies.

100 Carol M { 05.13.13 at 4:26 pm }

I love Quilty with its’ colorful pictures of quilts for all levels. Even though I don’t attempt all quilts (who could) I love finding out how they are made.

101 Vicci Conway { 05.13.13 at 4:36 pm }

I love Quilty because it’s been fun to watch YOU realize quilting was cool and to see you come into your own as a quilting ‘expert’, even though still learning — you can pass it on to others as you learn. The mistakes and the good stuff. It’s wonderful to learn from the experts, but it’s just as cool to be going through it with someone who is learning.

102 carla { 05.13.13 at 4:42 pm }

Thanks for the chance to win! I may do a Quilty giveaway on my blog. How can I give away a digital edition, btw? Is it a PDF download I could email?

That said I like quilty because the patterns are fresh and modern. I don’t usually use patterns but they are great inspiration.

103 Jean { 05.13.13 at 5:15 pm }

Love the fresh modern look.

104 Susan N { 05.13.13 at 5:49 pm }

Starting out in quilting is a scary thing. I enjoy learning the basics as well as the twists and turns you can take to make beautiful quilts.

105 Eliany { 05.13.13 at 5:51 pm }

I love Quilty because of the awesome patterns and all the inspiration it contains on every issue.

106 Ann S { 05.13.13 at 5:57 pm }

I haven’t found Quilty magazine in my local stores, but I would buy it if I did! I love the Quilty videos and blog posts. They are great for a beginner quilter, like me. I like how you present quilting as something fun, not something to fear!

107 Sandy Cartmell { 05.13.13 at 6:17 pm }

I like it all because I am a new quilter and need all the help I can get

108 Suzanne Ripple { 05.13.13 at 6:18 pm }

I love Quilty because I love the modern quilts.

109 Elizabeth_T { 05.13.13 at 6:19 pm }

What don’t I love about “Quilty”? Absolutely nothing! The variety of patterns and information is wonderful, and I especially like that the information is usable by both novice and experienced quilters alike.

110 Patti Kubacki { 05.13.13 at 6:20 pm }

I have recommended the show and the magazine so many times I can’t even begin to count. Both take the worries and strangeness out of quilting and makes you feel confident that it is something that you can do.

111 Michelle Hudak { 05.13.13 at 6:21 pm }

I was so excited when I bought my first issue ever of Quilty in, of all places, my local grocery store! I love the modern quilt designs and oh-so-simple directions in each issue. I’m a huge fan of modern quilts and bright, fun fabrics. Quilty is definitely not your grandma’s quilting magazine and that’s why I love it so.

112 Shauna { 05.13.13 at 6:29 pm }

I love Quilty magazine! I enjoy the patterns (just finished one as a gift). I also really like all of spooly’s helpful hints and your section from a longarmer. Thanks!!!

113 Kathy { 05.13.13 at 6:29 pm }

I like your magazine because you keep it fresh and very easy to follow instructions!

114 Donna H { 05.13.13 at 6:30 pm }

I enjoy Quilty magazine because I can make the quilts as a beginner this is HUGE. I don’t get frustrated but I learn.

115 Rina { 05.13.13 at 6:35 pm }

I didn’t buy an extra copy for a friend, I had to buy an extra copy for myself since my sister did the sad face thing and asked if she could have my copy. The first thing I like is the cover, it’s always so attention grabbing. I love the fast easy projects and the detailed instructions. Thanks for the chance at one of those great boxes of quilty goodness… I see a fantastic ruler and jelly roll in one box, can’t imagine all the goodies in the others.

116 Annie { 05.13.13 at 6:35 pm }

I never give up my copy of Quilty – sorry! I keep it on my shelf of quilting books and magazines and go through them for inspiration.

I really love Quilty because it has a perfect blend of modern quilting and traditional quilting. I have learned to much from this magazine!

117 Cheree Smith { 05.13.13 at 6:36 pm }

My favorite thing about Quilty are the articles. I do enjoy all of the interesting tidbits. The photos are always beautiful. Thank you.

118 Krisann R { 05.13.13 at 6:36 pm }

I am very new to quilting and super excited to read my first issue of Quilty. The comments by others have really piqued my interest in learning more. :)

119 Lisa Mather { 05.13.13 at 6:48 pm }

I love the patterns. Thanks for an awesome giveaway!

120 Laura { 05.13.13 at 6:53 pm }

Quilty is my favorite quilting magazine, hands down! The articles are so well written and interesting. I love every quilt pattern y’all publish and find myself using your beginner’s tips as I make quilts. I make sure all my quilting friends know about Quilty!

121 Sharon Thomas { 05.13.13 at 7:04 pm }

I don’t quilt, but the charity I volunteer is starting up quilting classes. Loving Arms Cancer Outreach in Marietta, GA. Would you throw that in the hat pretty please?

122 Alice M { 05.13.13 at 7:08 pm }

Love the modern quilts in Quilty. Easy to understand the technique. Always something new to learn.

123 Therese { 05.13.13 at 7:33 pm }

I love the use of color, and that I can beautiful make beautiful quilts easily. I’ll be looking for the new issue!

124 Merri { 05.13.13 at 7:38 pm }

Quilty is an AWESOME magazine! It is great for every sewer from the beginning to the advance. I would say at times I am in the middle .. and at times a beginner. But Quilty gives me the confidence I need to sew!

125 Jennifer c { 05.13.13 at 7:45 pm }

I love all the tips for a beginner like myself!

126 karen caswell { 05.13.13 at 8:15 pm }

I love quilty – online and magazine – very motivating to do my own after reading and listening. I also feel it has a great personal touch and I feel like they are talking to me. :)

127 Cecilia { 05.13.13 at 8:19 pm }

I like Quilty for its fresh new approach and the different levels of projects. I have a friend who needs a new magazine to help feed her addiction, so I will give her a copy of Quilty this week. :-)

128 emma bryan (UK) { 05.13.13 at 8:20 pm }

I love Quilty because it is fun, it has personality, and its modern, just like a friend introducing me to new ways to quilt and explaining it in language I understand. I buy it from halfway across the world, and I have been sharing it with ALL my friends.

129 Evie { 05.13.13 at 8:27 pm }

The great patterns which are easy to follow.

130 Jaime { 05.13.13 at 8:35 pm }

I love the beautiful simple quilts in every issue!

131 Cathy Slabaugh { 05.13.13 at 8:38 pm }

I love that Quilty is so personal–just like sitting down and chatting with you. I like the simple drawings and inspiring new modern fresh colors. I have been really quilting about 4 1/2 yrs. now, but loving it and saving fabric and patterns since 1976 when I was in my 20s!! I bought a rotary cutter and mat in the l980’s before I quite knew how great it was. I knew I’d love it. And I do. Thanks for all your inspiration and instruction.

132 Kathleen Deminski { 05.13.13 at 8:43 pm }

I love Quilty because I usually like ALL the patterns in each issue and that never happens with other magazines. I like the layout, the writing and the quilt styling. I especially like Spooly, so fun!I download each issue onto my iPad as soon as they come out and often go back to reread older ones.
Thank you Mary, for providing a fresh and interesting “Quilty” voice.

133 Katny Dulzo { 05.13.13 at 8:44 pm }

I find quilting very relaxing

134 Elaine { 05.13.13 at 8:56 pm }

I am brand new at quilting and Quilty has proved to be a rich source of tips and instruction for me. The videos on line are great. I even downloaded one of the free patterns that looks fairly easy. It’s called Elaina’s quilt! I love it! I’m planning on subscribing to Quilty asap. Thanks for such a wonderful publication.

135 Patricia Norman { 05.13.13 at 9:31 pm }

I really like Quilty because it is a new, fresh and youthful perspective on quilting. Sadly, this is not generally a young person’s hobby (as evidenced by the fact that I recently got a prize for being the youngest person at an event at age 43) and it is nice to see a young person promoting it. I also really like Spooly…

136 Cruz { 05.13.13 at 9:51 pm }

I was unable to find the latest issue of Quilty where I am staying in California, but I am hoping to find it in CHICAGO where I am visiting my daughter this week! I will buy each of us a copy as I have been raving about it since I first heard about it at Quilt Con. I love that it has a quirky personality, yet a core of respect for traditional craftmanship.

137 Krista { 05.13.13 at 10:13 pm }

Quilty’s modern style and easy patterns appeal to my children, they go through each issue and talk about which quilts they are planning on making. My girls are 9 and 6, and they have already made one each! I am going to give my Quilty to a friend at work, she’s a fairly novice quilter, but is already neck deep in the quilting world! But what I like about Quilty is the down to earth, use what works, practical approach to quilting. Having been a quilter for 27 years, I sometimes get tired of the uber critical, rigid, rule-bound elements in the quilt world. Even the “liberated” artsy quilters seem to look down on people who just like to make Sunbonnet Sues. I say, make what you love and let’s all just have a good time together!!

138 Kathleen Frye { 05.13.13 at 10:14 pm }

OMG!! Just bought two copies of the Mar/Apr magazine. One for me and one for my fellow quilters at my quilting-for-charity-group. The magazine is awesome, but I have to wait forever for copies to get to Deep South Texas.

139 Chuck { 05.13.13 at 10:18 pm }

Mom and I enjoy the quilts magazine, the patterns are great and sew :) easy to follow…. Also love the modern quilts in quiltsy :)

140 Kimberly { 05.13.13 at 10:53 pm }

I love Quilty because it is more modern and chic, compared to other mags. It’s not your Grandma’s quilting magazine! Hooray!

141 Cyndy Brunz { 05.13.13 at 10:55 pm }

I like that the patterns are quick and simple and most of the time I can grab your magazine, go to my stash, pull the fabric and have a top done quickly! Thanks for the chance at one of those mystery boxes….Who doesn’t love a mystery box!

142 cynthia { 05.13.13 at 11:08 pm }

I like the energy of quilty–dynamic designs, can-do attitude, and affirmative vibes!

143 Janell { 05.13.13 at 11:17 pm }

I subscribe to Quilty mag – partly because of the fresh quilt ideas and partly because of the humor- both are very creative and I now find myself looking forward to the next issue! I do also like that there are different levels within a given issue. Thanks for the great giveaway – generous!

144 Kim Chiusano { 05.13.13 at 11:26 pm }

I like the patterns and fabric choices but THE BEST THING ABOUT QUILTY IS THE FORMAT! It doesn’t read like the same old same old quilt magazine. I feels fresh and new. Keep em’ coming

145 Jerra { 05.13.13 at 11:33 pm }

Quilty always has something new! I am always learning and the wealth of knowledge never ends!

146 Dana N. { 05.14.13 at 12:20 am }

I love Quilty because of the inspiration not to mention all I learn. My best friend is going to love the copy of Quilty I give her.

147 Gwen Denluck { 05.14.13 at 12:22 am }

I love Quilty, cause I love everything about quilting.

148 Cindy { 05.14.13 at 12:32 am }

It’s easy to follow instructions that as a new quilter I can follow.

149 June { 05.14.13 at 1:06 am }

I agree with Kim above…I love the format! Great!

150 Bertha G { 05.14.13 at 1:14 am }

I love all the neat ideas you have. It is such a fun mag!

151 Sandra Chavez { 05.14.13 at 1:19 am }

I love the fresh new ideas presented and always appreciate the new (and not so new) techniques and tips that come with each issue. My friend Helen will love her copy of Quilty.

152 Tanya Stevens { 05.14.13 at 1:44 am }

The quilt patterns are easy to follow, and I enjoy spooly tips too!

153 Pam { 05.14.13 at 2:33 am }

I’m going to get another copy tomorrow and share it with one of my quilting friends! I like Quilty because it offers so many fairly easy sewing patterns in luscious colors. I love looking at elaborate show quilts at shows, but when it comes to my own sewing, I like things that I can finish in a reasonable amount of time. And I need help with colors so I often use the pictures as inspiration. Thanks for your awesome generosity! And thanks for the website too! I love visiting here!

154 Mary Ann N. { 05.14.13 at 2:44 am }

Quilty is so fresh! I like the upbeat feeling and its go-get-em attitude. I’m all about a dose of humor in everything; thanks for putting humor and a no-rules spin on quilting!!

155 Brandy Hallock { 05.14.13 at 2:51 am }

I love Quilty because it has such a vast wealth of knowledge for the beginner, like me, to the novice quilter. I can always say that I have learned so very much I am never left disappointed. Thank you for this amazing opportunity.

156 Audie { 05.14.13 at 3:34 am }

My favorite thing is how the magazine and free online show go together. The patterns are great, but being able to both read and watch a tutorial (for instance binding which I just successfully did for the first time) is great for newbies!

157 Julie Sturdivant { 05.14.13 at 3:34 am }

Beginner…. Quilty….Priceless!!!

158 Tara Cleveland { 05.14.13 at 3:41 am }

I love Quilty because the patterns are easy and quick!

159 Lee { 05.14.13 at 5:01 am }

I could say that Quilty has lots of dif skill levels and inspiration, yada,yada. But so do lots of magazines. What I luv abt Quilty is the unstuffy-poke fun at-irreverent-not yo grandma’s-look at the modern quilter. The girlfriend talk. And yes, the quilts are awesome,too!

160 Doris { 05.14.13 at 8:09 am }

Quilty is just down to earth and not too intimidating to rookies like me.

161 Mariam { 05.14.13 at 8:12 am }

I must tell you, I have enjoyed the videos. I am pretty visual, so it has helped me improve tremendously.

162 Gail { 05.14.13 at 8:33 am }

Watched Love of Quilting for years. And Mary makes quilting fun, with her genuine love of quilting and humor. It’s been fun watching her grow into quilting!

163 Renee { 05.14.13 at 10:26 am }

All the basics and more for people just starting out to more advanced skills. I’m always inspired to challenge myself. Thanks and keep up the great work!

164 Kara Weatherman { 05.14.13 at 10:36 am }

I love Quilty because it is just so fun to read. Well laid out, great projects (even for a beginner like me), cute illustrations and helpful hints. It’s my favorite! Thanks for the freebie opportunity too!

165 Janelle Torgeson { 05.14.13 at 11:29 am }

I love its modern aesthetic that is simplified for the newer quilter. It is bright and cheerful and has interesting articles. It also has some of the sew easy tips that I have always found helpful in “Love Of Quilting.” Every time I read a new issue I am inspired :)

166 Patty Thornton { 05.14.13 at 11:39 am }

What do I like about Quilty? It is funky and just the best fun I’ve ever had while reading a Quilting Mag. I get so excited when I see a new Quilty Mag at my grocery store! When I got the second QMag, Winter 2012 Issue, I instantly started working on the Baby Quilt, Five Easy Pieces. It is for my Brother and Sister-In-Law’s Baby! (I secretly want to keep it because it’s the first Boy Baby Quilt I’ve ever pieced.) I love how easy it was to follow the directions. Thank you for something so fresh and happy! P

167 Christy P { 05.14.13 at 2:53 pm }

I am a fairly new, self taught quilter and your magazine has been invaluable to me. I am able to go back and look for how to do something. I always fight with putting my strips together in a continuous row and able to find it in your magazine. It is a great magazine for all levels of quilters.

168 Linda Garcia { 05.14.13 at 2:55 pm }

I really like the fresh ideas for quilting. I used to be afraid that I wouldn’t get it right and I would be a hot mess. I love to learn and now I’m back to quilting again, because you’ve made it so much fun!

169 kimberlee { 05.14.13 at 3:30 pm }

I love how modern trendy fabrics are used in easy designs, and they build my confidence.

170 Emily { 05.14.13 at 4:06 pm }

I love everything about Quilty!! I’m a newbie quilter and I love how easy the patterns are to follow.
I learn so much. Thanks!! :)

171 Wendy Iris { 05.14.13 at 4:28 pm }

My husband gave me a subscription for Mother’s Day…not that I didn’t drop the big hint. Handed him the magazine and said this is what I want. I also gave him the website.

Quilty is a great magazine that is has great advice for novice quilters and it is a little more on the modern/young side. Love your magazine and thank you for the opportunity for a giveaway. Keeping my fingers crossed.

172 Lisabeth { 05.14.13 at 4:59 pm }

I really love the projects in quilty and the information. It’s inspiring and helpful to a new quilter like myself.

173 cindi { 05.14.13 at 5:14 pm }

I like quilty because it reminds me that it is okay to be a beginner. I don’t feel intimidated by Mary or the patterns.

174 Kris in TX { 05.14.13 at 5:39 pm }

I’m a seasoned quilter but I enjoy Quilty because I want quick and fresh new patterns to make. I bought my daughter her own copy of Quilty, after she wanted MINE ! She’s a new, enthusiastic quilter and we’re having great fun planning and quilting together.
Thanks for the inspiration – and for the giveaways !

175 De De B { 05.14.13 at 5:55 pm }

Ok, I have to admit, I bought my first copy recently, then bought another to pass on, its fresh and new, I LOVE IT.

176 Jacqueline A. Walton { 05.14.13 at 7:45 pm }

You keep the art of quilting interesting. I really enjoy the shows.

177 Diana M { 05.14.13 at 7:49 pm }

What’s NOT to love about Quilty?! As a beginning quilter there’s so many tips, patterns, and inspiration on every page. It’s easy to understand and the pictures are gorgeous! Thanks for the wonderful giveaway. Since I don’t have much of a stash yet, I’d LOVE to win something!

178 Christina { 05.14.13 at 7:53 pm }

I love how, even though I have been quilting for a couple of years, I always learn something new and helpful, and there is always at least one design I want to make!

179 Judy P { 05.14.13 at 8:12 pm }

As a new quilter, I have learned alot from quilty and your videos. You present ideas and topics in easy to understand language and photos. I like the mixture of traditional and modern quilts. Thanks for the chance to win. I’ve been sharing all my Quilty magazines–I have them from the first edition and now need to buy more to replace my stock.

180 Toni Anne { 05.14.13 at 8:30 pm }

It’s not your mother’s quilt magazine. It’s not stuffy, it’s a little of everything, many choices of size and skill level. I’m a sucker for colorful quilt photo shots. It’s a NEW quilting world today, pre-cut, quick and as Little waste as possible. Thanks Mary!

181 Jen Richardson { 05.14.13 at 9:35 pm }

I started quilting about two years ago and when I am watching or reading Quilty, I get SO MOTIVATED! I love the modern ideas and quilts. Everything is easy to follow for beginners and keeps me motivated trying new quilts as well!

182 Terry Harrison { 05.14.13 at 9:43 pm }

I picked up a copy of Quilty last year and took my first class in May. it has been great for me after being diagnosed with early on-set Alzheimer’s.

Thanks Mary for Quilty!

183 Dennis Wirth { 05.14.13 at 10:18 pm }

I love everything about the magazine. It encourages people to quilt, try new things and isn’t just a sales tool.

184 nikkiwn { 05.14.13 at 10:57 pm }

I love the modern aspect of quilty

185 Karen R. { 05.14.13 at 11:50 pm }

My daughter has just finished her 2nd quilt. She loves the modern quilts and easy ones. I bought her the Quilty magazine and she loves it. I also love it and I am an old quilter!

186 Ruth Vermeer { 05.15.13 at 1:03 am }

Quilty magazines have a great variety of projects and the clear instructions gives me confidence to try new things.

187 Sarah { 05.15.13 at 1:08 am }

I love quilty because it’s like you you are speaking to a younger audience. You often make modern designs that I love and you break things down so even someone with very little to no experience can understand. You really show that quilting really isn’t just an “old lady” hobby.

188 Pam Troxell { 05.15.13 at 1:52 am }

I love Quilty because it really gives me inspiration to try different things. The last issue I kept with me reading it over and over again. Unfortunately it got destroyed when a can of Coke leaked somehow (really there was no openning) and leaked all over it. I had to order it over agin. I have been quilting for a long time, but I learn something new in every issue!

189 theresa { 05.15.13 at 2:20 am }

I love Quilty because I’m a modern traditional quilter (funky fabrics + traditional patterns). I get inspiration from the quilts on your set, and patterns in the magazines. I love being able to watch the videos after a stressful day at work, and browse the magazine as I fall asleep (esp reading the margins). :)

190 Elaine Westfall { 05.15.13 at 2:20 am }

Quilty is like having my own helpful, patient, creative, smart, and sassy teacher right at home with me.

191 Barbara { 05.15.13 at 2:30 am }

I like this giveaway! Quilty is not only a great name, but is just GREAT. So many nice tips and great lessons! I NEED the giveaway to help a friend experience all the goodness of being on line and experiencing QUILTY!

Barbara S.

192 Kimmy { 05.15.13 at 3:36 am }

I just finished my first quilting class and came across Quilty. I love how straightforward and helpful it is to us novice quilters. Of course, the eye candy is the fun part!

193 Eleanor Dinwiddie { 05.15.13 at 4:32 am }

I’m a new quilter and I just love that Quilty is geared for me and anyone else that is just learning.

194 Sarah { 05.15.13 at 5:02 am }

Most of all, I love how you make quilting approachable instead of intimidating! Love the pattern inspirations, ideas, and advice from real-world quilters.

195 rebekah { 05.15.13 at 7:12 am }

I love how even projects that look intimidating become completely doable!

196 Pat Ioveno { 05.15.13 at 9:04 am }

I LOVE this magazine!! It s so full of life. The other quilt magazines seem so dull compared to Quilty. This is the only one I buy now and it always makes me happy.

197 TB { 05.15.13 at 1:26 pm }

Fabrics, designs, tips, tricks – love it all!

198 Becky Wyatt Lowery { 05.15.13 at 1:43 pm }

I love the magazine the moment I saw it. So excited that we have a new quilt magazine! The patterns are wonderful, reading is great! Thanks for coming up with something new for us. Blessings on your day, Becky

199 Kelsie M { 05.15.13 at 2:00 pm }

Hey Mary! I am a very new quilter! Actually i am just finishing up my first quilt! I am 15 years old and my favorite thing about Quilty ( Btws love the name, it fits perfectly) is that it is SO versatile! its a great program for people of all ages! Its the only quilting show i even watch.

200 Karen { 05.15.13 at 2:24 pm }

I think Quilty is a great magazine. I like the simplicity of the quilt designs, the ease of reading and the ability to for the beginner and intermediate to learn to love to quilt and turn out great projects.

201 Shay { 05.15.13 at 2:32 pm }

I used a Quilty pattern to sew my first quilt top ever. I finished that quilt and gave it away for a friends’ new baby. In love with quilting – thanks for making it easy for beginners! :)

202 Robin Wrightsman { 05.15.13 at 2:59 pm }

I have been struggling to find inspiration for two wedding quilts that I have been requested to make for my cousins (sisters with weddings 3 months aparts). After reviewing every magazine and book in my arsenal, I found true inspiration with the pages of Quilty. The freshness and simplicity of the featured quilts have allowed me to visualize the quilts with the fabrics chosen and give me the extra push I needed to be re-motivated and excited. Thanks for the lift.

203 Cindy Moran { 05.15.13 at 4:36 pm }

just got my first copy of Quilty for a Mother’s Day gift
it is fun and inspiring

204 Shelby { 05.15.13 at 5:25 pm }

Love all the modern patterns and color combos :)

Love this magazine! So many great and easy projects to do, with lots of good tips!

206 Kristen { 05.15.13 at 6:11 pm }

I always buy a copy of Quilty for myself and my mom at B&N. I love it!

I love this magazine and show because it has helped me continue my learning of quilt making since I have moved away from my “teacher” and friend, who I sent the magazine too. I also like that I can make wonderful usable gifts for friends and family members! Keep up the great work!!

Love the easy, breeZy style – no fuss -just love your fabric and ‘sew-to-it’ attitude. Good to be less-tha-perfect in a ‘perfect’ world.

I love quilty. I don’t always have time to set down for long sessions of quilting and this magazine keeps it simple and quick. It has lots of good suggestions and design ideas. It was one of the first quilt magazine’s I picked up.

Thank you for a marvelous magazine.

Just heard you speak this morning at Shady Maple. I was able to bring four beginning quilters (young 30’s). Loved your presentation and they did too! I have seen your show and subscribed to Fons & Porter in the past. Enter me in the drawing. I am about to order Quilty for my daughter and a wedding shower gift for two of the gals I brought this morning. Thanks for all the inspiration you are giving to young quilters.

217 Barbara Work { 05.15.13 at 9:34 pm }

I visit your workshops, videos, as well as subscribe to the magazine for inspiration and education. I’m a new quilter, making quilts for the poor young, unwed (and wed) mothers for their babies; it is publicized they take their newborns home from the hospital in newspapers for blankets. I am a U.S. expat, living in Jocotepec, Mexico, where poverty is the norm. Thanks for your great easy patterns and education.

Oh pa-leese! I am so thrilled to find you. I was just trying to hunt down the next issue of your mag. and found myself here! I feel like I already won!

220 Sinta Renee { 05.15.13 at 10:51 pm }

oops, and to answer the question… I love the modern quilts that you feature, taking a traditional pattern and giving it a fresh new spin. I have been a mainstream quilter and your magazine is bridging the gap for me! I am loving the beautiful simplicity of the patterns in Quilty. The feather quilt, the churn dash, the plus/minus quilt, come to mind off the top of my head.

221 Jenny { 05.16.13 at 12:28 am }

I am brand new to quilting so I have never gotten a Quilty magazine! But I have watched a couple of your videos and I love them. Your humor is great and you’re easy to listen to. Thanks!

230 Mary K Sullivan Greenlee { 05.16.13 at 2:59 am }

Quilty is young. I can still remember how my grandmother’s sewing room smelled. Fabric, yarn, the piece of felt board she put on the bed so she could have a big surface. When I see an old timey quilt, I think of her. I wish I had started quilting sooner. You have made it ‘cool’ to quilt – thank you for bringing in a new generation – the longer they’ll be able to enjoy the art.

231 Mary K Sullivan Greenlee { 05.16.13 at 3:01 am }

wait! it’s 11:01 where I am, it’s still May 15!

246 Pam { 05.31.13 at 2:50 pm }

Hi, I am probably late to the party here but I did find Quilty quite by accident on the web AND the magazine, I have sewn my whole life but NEVER quilted until lately. I found I could count on the information to help me out bc there are not too many quilt shops near my home so I HAD to search out other resources, I feel like it is DO ABLE for me, and that in and of itself is important to me. I have 7 grandchildren that all want quilts and I plan to make them ( easy ones that is) Thank you for making me feel like I can do this! Really, I was quite scared before bc of the absolute precision it required but now I am a bit older and have weathered a bit and can allow myself to make mistakes. I learned to stop fearing the fact that I told myself it was beyond my skill level,and just STARTED, so that is what I am telling others now,,,,,,BTW, I did get a new sewing machine for this new passion of mine and I love it~ Thanks for your patterns, your ideas and making me feel good about my sewing again!

247 Sharon Tapia { 05.31.13 at 3:02 pm }

Icertainly hope I haven’t missed this contest. Because I could sure use the supplies that we could win. Being a new quilter I don’t have the fully stocked sewing room like so many of the quilters have. Most quilters would go crazy trying to use the very limited supplies I do have. But it makes it challenging that’s for sure!! I ABSOLUTELY LOVE QUILTY because it inspires me to try new projects. It has so much info for new quilters like myself to learn or get better with techniques we have recently learned. Quilty always makes projects simple to understand and therefore makes trying new things less scary for us beginners. It’s like “MY QUILTING BIBLE” I can refer to my Quilty Mag for anything I need.

248 Lillie { 06.01.13 at 2:28 pm }

Quilty is the modern of Fon’s and Porter. Lots of New ideas, easy to understand, bright and colorful. I love SPOOLY and the Make it Your Own visions. it’s creative and I look forward to each issue.

249 Paula M. { 06.06.13 at 4:02 pm }

I love Mary Fons’ up beat fun personality which is in every issue of Quilty magazine. She gives me the encouragement I need to keep going with the quilting projects. :) I LOVE to collect fabrics – – every single little piece of them. Thank you Mary for making quilting FUN and exciting.

250 Priscilla W { 06.13.13 at 12:07 am }

Just signed up for Quilty, I am so excited, can’t wait to get my magazines and get started on line.

251 Naomi Williams { 06.22.13 at 6:16 pm }

I have to say why I love quilty. I am new to quilting but all the patterns I found seemed to be traditional. I was looking for something new, something different and when I saw quilty I just counldn’t believe it. It was exactly what I was looking for.Quilty took years of tradition of an old art and added a little zest. Love It!

Its like waiting for another box of chocolates, the kind you just cant stop eating. When you have finished savoring the very last smack on your lips to the last page. You just know your going to start from the first page and make sure you havent missed one thing. Just like licking chocolate off your fingers, when no one is looking. Forget the napkin. Just keep paging through. Soaking in each great idea.
