Whoo! Hoo! The most awesome magazine for new quilters EVER!!!!

2 Melody { 10.26.12 at 12:47 pm }

I have been quilting for 30 years (although not as much as I would have liked while working and raising a family). I am finally getting back into it (empty nest isn’t so bad). I absolutely love “quilty” magazine ! Originally I took one class to learn the basics and it got me hooked. I dreamed about quilting for years but did very little with my busy schedule (although I accumulated alot of fabric , quilt magazines and pattern books during those years ) ! Although I did remember alot of what I “self” learned years ago, I am going back to re-learning some of the basics (the right way) so I get it right this time around ! I am having a ball. I have been hitting the stores looking fo rthe next issue of Quilty for 3-4 weeks now…even contacted you via the e mail in the first issue so find out when it would be out. So happy to hear I can get it delivered right to my door. Thank you.

Mary, I have been checking the bookstore and was able to pick up my second issue of Quilty last night. I love it! I want to make a version of the Black Mage quilt you have in the issue and on the website. My video game loving son loves it. He is 24 the same age as Abbie the woman who made it. Maybe I can get him to make a quilt of his own. Will show you once I’ve gotten it made.

This is one mag that needs a subscription. Truly one of the best now on the market for quilters of all levels really. It’s funky, fresh, and full of great yummy goodness!! Thanks so much to you and your team!

All of the shows were on and off again. I’m new with all this QNNtv.com etc. Will you please let me know if I can see all of these shows on my computer or do I have to view it on my TV? Thank you very much.

got your magazine in the mail, I will read it from cover to cover! I already made one quilt from your 1st issue. This is really the best new magazine for quilting out there, so fresh! Thanks Mary, you rock!

Just picked up my issue today @ JoAnn I just love Quilty.

QNNtv.com is an internet show, Lori. Now, I think some of the new-fangled televisions can hook up to the internet and you can play online content *through* your TV, but that’s between you and the cables. You should be able to go to QNNtv.com, log in, and watch the 1,000s of shows right there on your computer. Thank you for watching!! :) Mar

Picked up issue 2 @ Joann and absolutely love it. How can I susbscribe? The web references are a great tool. I am sure this great magazine will inspire more casual sewers to get hooked on quilting. Can’t wait for the next issue.

I was looking through the magazine racks and found Quilty. I really liked the clean crisp look of your magazine and the small hints on the sides. I’m making the math quilt to donate to the local school for Teacher’s Day on Tuesday, May 7th, 2013. Thanks. I’m going to get a subscription. And to all the males out there looking for great ideas, this is definitely the quilt magazine for us.

Oooh, I know!

It’s been pretty tough cookies around here, fair reader. I’m so sorry! We had a mad dash to get situated for the 6 issues coming up in 2013, we had a 25-episode shoot to do, I was in the darned hospital again… Excuses, excuses! I know!

I’m back and feeling good and thank you for asking! Ha!

How are YOU??
:)

Hi mary.. i have watched you on tv with your mom when i can find it on.. since i dont have cable tv i watch it on the pbs stations but lately they havent had it on.. i miss watching you and ilove reading quilty, but it is hard to find here .. seems like it goes quickly i loved it and i missed an issues so i will have to back order that one but i do plan on subscribing at the end of this month . i had to get bills paid first.. looking forward to getting it regularily instead of having to hunt it down in the stores.. i am a sort of novice quilter. ilearned years ago from my grandmother but put it down while raising five sons but now that they are all grown and seen some of the things i make they are putting their orders in with me. i also got my 11 yr old granddaughter and her mom into quilting now..so it is good that traditon keeps on going.. keep putting cool stuff in your magazine . it is very helpful to those of us who are newbies or are relearning how to do things.. thanks a bunch.. maybe one day i will meet you at a show or a shop since i do get down to chicago sometimes..

Mary , Are you going to teach at Sievers this year? I am going to sign up for a week of quilting in June 2013 I CAN’T WAIT !!!!

I had the absolute pleasure of hearing your lecture at QuiltCon. Let me say this, I was in tears the whole time. You are a fantastic speaker and your passion for quilting is electrifying. Thank you so much for sharing your experience with everyone and making me feel like it is okay to like what I like and not have to put a label on it. I am 60 years old and never have felt like I fit in anywhere because I like some of this and some of that. I now feel okay about it. I am sooo excited that there are so many young women coming to the craft. Thank You Quilt Mafia!

I think my memory is getting the best of me. Why was I thinking that when you announced that Quilty would be available as a subscription, it was a “true subscription” that you had a set amount for the year that we would pay. I held off on ordering it because it said it would start with the March/April issue, which I already had. When I contacted customer service, they advised me to wait to subscribe after May 1. So this was the “plan” till I came back here to do so and am now seeing that it is an “auto ship”, but not a subscription like the regular magazines… I am so confused. Am I remembering wrong or wasn’t there an option to pay annually? Bonk me on the head! ahahhaah I must say, you’ve all done a fabulous job with this magazine and should be commended for such. I think it appeals to all levels with fresh, new ideas, and of course a sorta wacky side that keeps us all in smiles. So let me know if things changed or my memory is just being faulty?
