Correction!
So far, the magazine is making people really happy. Which makes us happy. We’ve stopped allowing ourselves Champagne at lunch, but the happiness persists. Thanks to everyone for the great comments, suggestions, fan mail, etc. The next issue will be even better.
Sadly, the first issue was not without two errors. I’m always fascinated by the “Corrections” box, be it in the New York Times or the Podunk Banner — it’s a public pronouncement of an error and that seems refreshing somehow. But we do regret the following errors in the inaugural issue of Quilty:
- Judie Rothermel’s name was misspelled.
- We stated that the gorgeous Marcus fabrics in the Centennial Solids line were organic. This is not accurate. Marcus’ organic cotton line is in fact Oasis Canvas.
In hopes of helping smooth over the mistake, we’d like to point out the following:
- Judie Rothermel is really nice, really pretty, and lovely in every way!
- The Oasis Canvas line from Marcus is a perfect crossover weight for quilts, home decor, totes and more — and here are links to both of those Marcus collections:
- Centennial Solids: http://www.marcusfabrics.com/cgi-bin/fabricgallery/gallery.cgi?Category=22
- Oasis Canvas: http://www.marcusfabrics.com/cgi-bin/fabricgallery/gallery.cgi?Category=632
We do apologize, guys. It’s unbelievable how many times and how many eyes go over a magazine before it goes to print and STILL, sometimes there are boo-boos.
Here’s to zero boo-boos in your day!

Thanks for the corrections, Mary! For those who might not be familiar with the Judie Rothermel name, check out our All About Judie page on the site. Judie is the originator of the 1930′s category of prints under the name AUNT GRACE, and we love how modern quilters have adopted her prints for more contemporary patchwork. This year, we celebrate her 25th anniversary as an industry icon!

2 errors? Seriously? For a first issue, I think that is REMARKABLE! Great job, Quilty Magazine staff! Can’t wait for the next one, and especially can’t wait for subscription status!
I know what you mean, I do our church newsletter each month and the bulletin each week. 3 pastors, our children’s ministry director and I all look at them and still come sunday or when someone else looks at them after print we find an error. just sayin
We sincerely appreciate your feedback and the incredible support that you show. Thanks, Sue. Keep watching and reading! Happy quilting

I love your magazine. I have read it cover to cover…..the humor is so great!!…a real “uplifter!”…..I will definitely be looking forward to your next issue. When will it be available?
I just picked up the first issue and have been poring over every page. It’s great! Due to my attention to every detail, I noticed that Heather Jones’ blog address was misspelled on page 27. It should read http://www.oliveandollie.com
PLEASE tell me where i can purchase Quilty magazine. After searching for an entire month everywhere I went, I finally called the Love of Quilting number and ordered a copy by mail. This made the price too expensive.
There is a BRAND NEW Jo Ann Fabrics in Golden Gate Shopping Center in Mayfield Heights, OH 44124. I live in Mayfield Heights and was SURE I would find Quilty there. They have a TON of magazines including Love of Quilting. I personally spoke to the manager of this new store to request Quilty magazine and she told me that it is out of her hands and that the “magazine vendor” takes care of which magazines are for sale. I was getting nowhere with her and just gave up. PLEASE put Quilty magazine on sale at Jo Ann Fabrics. THANK YOU.
I really enjoyed the magazine. I hope there will be an opportunity to subscribe. I found my copy at the Jo Ann Fabrics in Hudson, OH. I also love watching Mary and her Mom on the Love of Quilting episodes on Public Television. Thanks for all your shared knowledge and wisdom!!
Thanks for your support, Wendy. Glad you enjoyed the Magazine:) Keep reading and Happy Quilting!

Also had difficulty finding the magazine in Montreal but eventually succeeded. I hope you will offer it on a subscription basis.
In the spirit of constructive criticism though, I am bringing you back to your Mission statement: Many of today’s newer quilters come to the craft with little to no knowledge of quilting basics; the home economics classes our mothers took were replaced by computer classes when we were in school.
Although in my mid-fifties, I am one of those newer quilters who requires reading glasses to read and to work on my quilts. The font which I am sure conveys a young, dynamic and modern look to the Quilty magazine is way too pale, making it really hard to read. Anyway you can rectify this? Looking forward to the next issue.
I enjoyed the magazine.
